RADICAL WELSH BOOKFAIR, TŶ TAWE, SWANSEA, 20/01/2018

SATURDAY THE 20TH OF JANUARY, 2018

FAIR: 11AM-LATE

GIG: 7PM-LATE

TŶ TAWE, CHRISTINA STREET, SWANSEA

FREE ENTRY

A radical space for social movements, campaign groups, underground distributors and alternative publishers. Like the Cardiff Anarchist Bookfair and Derry Radical Bookfair, the event is about a lot more than books – there will be stands, pamphlets, stickers, workshops, tea and coffee and a childrens’ corner. And in the evening there will be an alternative gig.

The bookfair is being held at Tŷ Tawe (Christina Street, Swansea), a community centre for the Welsh language. Welsh will be the main language of the bookfair, though speakers of all languages (and none) are very welcome. Dewch yn llu!

At 14.30pm there will be an English medium workshop: “The Welsh Language is Radical: Come and learn it!”, introducing the Welsh language struggle.

The building is accessible via a ramp. There is also a disabled toilet. Most of the event will take place upstairs – there is no lifft, but there is a stair-lifft. We apologise if this isn’t sufficient. If you need assistance in terms of accessibility, or any further information, feel free to contact us bellow and we will try and support you.

Oppressive behavior such as sexism, racism, anti-Welshness, snobbishness, homophobia, transphobia and ableism will not be tolerated. If you are receiving abuse at the event the organising crew will try their best to support you. We call on everybody that can to take responsibility in opposing oppression.

If you want to take photographs, record or ffilm in the fair you must first have the enthusiastic consent of everyone in the photograph or recording.
